Cervical Cerclage

Cervical Cerclage

Treatment for cervical ineffectiveness is a surgery called cervical cerclage, in which the cervix is sewn shutamid pregnancy. The cervix is the lowest part of the uterus and stretches out into the vagina.

Cervical cerclage is typically done under regional or general anesthesia. Most cervical cerclage techniques are done through the vagina.

Cervical cerclage might be done through the abdomen if the transvaginal cerclage is unsuccessful or anatomically difficult due to an extremely short, lacerated or scarred cervix.

After the procedure, we will continue to monitor you closely for signs or symptoms of preterm labor.
